Situation
There are 800,000 children currently living in poverty in London. So many families are struggling to cope with benefit cuts, food and energy price rises so this Christmas won’t be a time of joy for many children. While most families enjoy Christmas, 69,319 (67%) of children in poverty that we surveyed in November are expecting food poverty to get worse for them over the Christmas period with 38% reporting that they will be cold at some point over Christmas due to fuel poverty.
Solution
Your donation will help us to fund the delivery of practical and emotional support to over 100,000 vulnerable and disadvantaged children in every borough of London as part of our £3.5m Christmas Challenge campaign. Your donation will help to double other donations to the 98 participating charities to provide this support over the next 12 months.
