Sedbergh School provides an outstanding education that provides a unique opportunity for youngsters to discover and develop their talents. This project will make this opportunity available to youngsters from deprived backgrounds who would not otherwise be able to consider a Sedbergh education.

    Situation

Many youngsters today are unable to realise their full potential through lack of opportunity to both discover and develop their talents. The education provided at Sedbergh School is acknowledged to deliver on both fronts but, for financial reasons, is not available to many likely to benefit from it - including those living in the relatively deprived areas of cities in the north and midlands. We are working with charities to provide these life changing opportunities. To provide an education at Sed

    Solution

Over the last 9 years since the project was started we have been able to fund 100% scholarships for 16 young people at the school. The ambition is to create two more places each September for new Roger Lupton Scholars. Additional pastoral support will be provided to the individual and family as required throughout the scholarship period. After leaving School the pupils will benefit from the support of the extended Sedbergh School community for social and career networking.
