Situation

From famine to flood, weather related natural disasters are increasing due to Climate change. This, plus man-made conflict, is resulting in violence and widespread displacement. These create challenging conditions which render many people vulnerable, particularly women and children. From the explosion in Beirut to the worsening conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia, to the volcanic eruption in Goma, DRC, the ACF has offered crucial funds to the Church as it responds in love and ministers to the needs of the hurting.

Solution

We are able to swiftly make grants available to the Church in the most difficult of situations. The Church is often first to respond to the needs of people at the grassroots level. Through our relationships with clergy and other church leaders we are able to understand the nature of the crisis, how the church is responding, and how we can best financially support them. A basic application and budget from each church indicates to the ACF how given funds will be used. ACF funds can often serve as a catalyst for additional funds to be raised.
