Child Bereavement UK helps children, parents and families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people up to 25 years of age who are facing bereavement, and anyone affected by the death of a child of any age.

    Situation

Over the last 18 months we have witnessed communities facing grief on an unparalleled scale. Covid-19 has caused children, young people and families to face unthinkable loss. Delivery of bereavement support has become more important than ever; we’ve been helping not only those directly impacted by Covid but also families bereaved through other causes, who have experienced disproportionate challenges as a result of the pandemic. Parents and children we support tell us that Christmas can be a particularly painful time when you’re grieving.

    Solution

We are focused on delivering a range of bereavement support to as many young people and families as we can this Christmas and beyond. We will be flexible to ensure a wide variety of people can access these services. We are determined to tackle the complex and prolonged long-term impact of Covid-19 on bereaved children and families as we emerge from lockdown by delivering group and individual support both face-to-face and by telephone, video or instant messenger, wherever it is needed in the UK.
