We're a homeless charity with two shops that sell unwanted furniture & appliances at affordable rates. This work is the foundation for providing a longterm solution to local homeless people in this area, as it will help us fund the running costs of housing, and providing meaningfull work.

Situation
We exist to reduce homelessness in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Homelessness occurs for a range of reasons; including relationship breakdown, poor mental health, and eviction. Bradford is the 13th most deprived local authority in England, the fifth most income deprived, and the sixth most employment deprived. National charities are predicting a rise in homelessness due to eviction post-covid. We want to provide a long-term solution.
Solution
We are working towards opening the first Emmaus community in Bradford, providing initially, 15-25 local adults with long-term housing, and work in our shops. We believe in giving people a hand-up, not a hand-out, so that people can reclaim their confidence, gain new skills, and regain self-worth by helping others through our furniture recycling and charitable work.
