On the 04/12/21 we meet at Hyde Park to walk together a distance of 1585km. This inclusive event will tackle isolation and reconnect individuals after the pandemic. The money we raise will support vulnerable and marginalised people, who access our service to increase their overall wellbeing.

    Situation

During the pandemic, it became clear that isolation is one of the biggest challenges for vulnerable people. After reopening our weekend services many service users, who could not access our online programme, said they were feeling very fragile and isolated, and a number said they had relapsed. Over 30 of our local volunteers expressed a desire to somehow ‘get connected’ again to reduce social isolation. Many suffer from underlying health conditions without any support through family or friends.

    Solution

To tackle isolation and stigma surrounding addiction we are planning a series of events between Christmas and New Year such as the ‘Reconnecting Walk' which will bring ca. 200 individuals together to reconnect with BoB and other people in and outside of their support bubble. We will invite commissioners and trustees to join us as well as friends, neighbours & other supporters from our local communities. We will encourage people who feel isolated to access our services and activities.
