At the close of what has been another traumatic and isolating year for older people, we want to provide the Gift of Christmas for those who will not have access to a hot meal and will not see anyone on Christmas day. Our gift will include a hot Christmas meal, a gift box of Christmas goodies and a befriending call on Christmas morning. Our gift will provide the little warmth and happiness that everyone deserves at Christmas time, so they feel they are not alone.
At the start of the pandemic our staff and volunteers quickly adapted our regular services to provide much needed front-line support to older people who needed to shield. We provided a weekly hot meal delivery service to those who could no long access their usual means of a hot meal. This service will be re-instated to provide and deliver up to 200 hot Christmas meals in addition to a gift box and a friendly call on Christmas morning from our telephone befirenders.
To all at Age UK, A big thank you for the lovely meal you provided for me, also a BIG thank you to Mikail for the lovely card.
I was pleasantly suprised at all the food I received. It was much more than I expected and very generous of you. Thanks for the lovely box of chocloates and shortbread too. I was planning on leaving the house to buy some food, but realised i wouldn't need to. Thank you!
Thank you for the Christmas meal! Many, many, many thanks - the meal was delicious. May God bless your efforts and carry on your good work.
Thank you so much for the beautiful hamper - i couldn't believe it was all for me, you are so kind.
