    Situation

There are over 130,000 people living with MS across the UK. MS is a condition that causes damage to the nerves in your brain and spinal cord. Some of the most common symptoms are fatigue, unusual feelings in your skin, problems with eyesight, memory and thinking problems, and walking difficulties. We estimate that around 103,688 people live in areas where there are not enough MS nurses or specialist health professionals. This makes symptoms harder to handle and can leave people in the dark.

    Solution

The MS Trust provides the vital support which people with MS urgently need to manage and treat their often complex, ongoing, and debilitating symptoms. Our MS Specialist Nurses and Advanced MS Champions programmes fund, train, and support more MS specialist health professionals in the areas where people need them most, increasing accessibility and ease of access for people with MS. The MS Trust also provide a free helpline which offers evidence-based, factual information to keep people informed.
