The solar supply installed on-site has provided over 20% of electricity used. PHASE 2 will give a significant addition to the solar system for the whole site making it the primary source of power, reducing utility costs and providing extra resilience against the unstable and costly grid supply.

Situation
There are frequent power cuts in Zambia due to load shedding. This interrupts the functioning of the college as well as the needs of the farm onsite. The solar supply on-site has been meeting the essential requirements for which it was installed, and has provided over 20% of the electricity used
Solution
We have a plan for a PHASE 2 Solar installation. The first phase was an emergency need due to power cuts resulting in water not being able to be pumped onto site for sanitation and irrigation.
