Our vision, at Hope for Children is a world where every child has a happy childhood that sets them up for a positive future. We creates opportunities for overlooked, vulnerable and exploited children living in extreme poverty. Previously working internationally, but now beginning UK based projects.

Situation
The pandemic has hit disadvantaged families with young children hard. Fear and anxiety have affected the mental health of carers. Free social contact between children has been drastically curtailed. They have suffered from a lack of physical exercise and disruption to early years socialisation, play and education. Together, in the current era of ‘living with Covid’ and the post pandemic era to come, these factors present a serious problem which Hope for Children can address.
Solution
Via multiple strands of work: * 0-3 working with a national partner to support families identified as vulnerable/child development delay identified in the home * 3-5 working with nurseries & Reception classes to work with parents/carers of children identified as vulnerable/development delay as above but within small groups/use technology * a national book scheme to provide books to all children delivered to the home regularly
