Advocating for better outcomes for people with Rett syndrome in health, social care & education is fundamental to what we do. Families are exhausted by fighting a system that was already massively under resourced, hard to navigate. COVID-19 has hugely exacerbated the issues and added to the crisis.

    Situation

Life was impossibly hard for families pre COVID-19. The services they relied on for support were already under a huge strain. The pandemic has added another level of difficulty. The Disabled Children’s Partnership Campaign #LeftInLockdown reported 50% of families saying their child’s condition had worsened in the pandemic with lack of access to therapies, school and health services. The story in adult services is just as bleak. Parents are too exhausted to fight for what they are entitled to.

    Solution

With 30+ years experience of providing professional family support services we are able to quickly assess what needs to be done, how to go about it and who to contact. We know what families are entitled to, how to best present a case for support and how to challenge decisions when the outcome is unfair or even illegal. We have the tools, resources and energy to achieve the best possible outcome for their child. We are their fourth emergency service.
