    Situation

Throughout the pandemic, loved ones dementia diagnosis’ progressed at alarming rates. The number of people with dementia is set to rise rapidly to over 1 million by 2025 and 2 million by 2051. At Age Exchange, the 150 people living with dementia & the carers we support refer to our service as a lifeline which is currently threatened by our biggest challenge yet; an increase in demand in our services & less funding available due to the financial burden of the pandemic.

    Solution

We have 38 years’ experience of combatting loneliness & improving the wellbeing of people with dementia & their carers through the arts. Our independently evaluated Reminiscence Arts intervention is proven to improve quality of life. Through art (visual, music, dance, theatre), people with dementia & their carers are listened to, empowered to explore, share past & present experiences & reconnect. Your donation can help to safeguard a vital lifeline for people living with dementia & their carers.
