    Situation

Many of the parents we meet feel overwhelmed by emotions of sadness and guilt following the diagnosis of their child’s autism. Some liken it to experiencing a sense of grief when they realise the future may hold a very different and unknown outcome for their child and for them as a parent. They face a terrifying void and often don’t know where to turn to for support.

    Solution

We will facilitate and deliver free, open access, on-line Parent Support sessions. The groups will provide an empathetic, confidential and non-judgemental space for parents to support each other and create a peer network to share experiences and learn from each other. Our Family Support Coordinator will offer practical and emotional support during the sessions, plus further information and signposting out-with the groups. The groups will each be age-specific to the child, parents found this
