At PiP, everything we do is about empowering adults with a learning disability to move towards independence and achieve their ambitions. We work together with our students to support them to make independent choices, gain skills, opportunities, to speak up and out about things that matter to them.

    Situation

94% of adults with a learning disability are unemployed (and 78% of adults with autism are too). Almost half have no qualifications and only a 1/3 are in any education or training. The latest research shows that the disability employment gap is widening as a result of the pandemic. We know from experience that people with learning disabilities will be unequally affected by any economic downturn. We can solve these societal structural inequalities with your support.

    Solution

With your support, PiP can offer our students personalised Employment Coaching and better access to vocational training - leading to more opportunities for adults with a learning disability to ultimately gain paid employment and financial independence. Donations will help us to create a fully accessible Fruitful kitchen. Fruitful is our juice training stall, teaching employability skills such as customer service, money management and food hygiene.
