The number of children & young people with mental health issues has been on the rise for some years. We’ve seen first-hand how the pandemic has negatively impacted mental health & wellbeing; heightened depression, uncertainty, lack of confidence, loneliness & anxiety. Without support there’s a high risk that children will continue to suffer long-term mental ill health which will negatively impact on their future success & happiness. Our unique service is more critical than ever before.

We will use our horses to connect with these children & young people in a way other more traditional interventions such as counselling often fail. Many of them won’t speak – but they’ll put their arms around a horse and whisper in its ear – and that’s where the transformation starts. We use this connection & the children’s newfound interest in horses to engage them in an educational programme that supports their mental and physical health and wellbeing.
