    Situation

There are almost 16 million children engaged in child labour in Ethiopia today. A high proportion of that number are young girls who are at risk of being trafficked into domestic servitude, or commercial sex work. It can be difficult to see the difference that once person can make to the urgent issue of human trafficking, but your gift could help equip our team in Ethiopia, giving them the tools and resources they need to locate and rescue the victims of this terrible crime.

    Solution

In Ethiopia and other countries, Hope for Justice runs transitional centres called Lighthouses. In Ethiopia, two of our Lighthouses are specifically for girls under 18 years old who have been trafficked or are at risk of trafficking, where we provide accommodation, care and protection. We support the girls by providing recovery services to survivors of child domestic work and sex trafficking, helping them to return to safe families or community-based care.
