We will give more people the chance to restore nature, tackle climate change and respond to visitor pressures in Snowdonia. By creating opportunities for practical action on urgent environmental challenges we face, conservation volunteering connects people and strengthens the movement for change.

    Situation

Snowdonia is beautiful but its treasures are threatened by climate change, the biodiversity crisis and over-tourism. Climate change is posing a threat like never before; biodiversity is rapidly declining. Nature needs our help, and we need nature. So many people need to spend time in Snowdonia for their physical and mental wellbeing, but high visitor numbers brings extra pressures on the National Park. As Snowdonia’s conservation charity, we know we need to respond directly.

    Solution

The Snowdonia Society acts for Snowdonia. Our approach is simple; we work with those from all walks of life to create opportunities for practical volunteer action. By working together we build understanding of the issues. Working with volunteers and other organisations, we build commitment to solving the challenges together. Our work is effective. Whether clearing litter, planting trees or restoring peatlands, our work makes a difference to Snowdonia, partner organisations and to our volunteers.
