    Situation

Two people die because of violence every minute. One in four of us wake up in a warzone each morning. Top-down, international efforts to end and prevent wars are not working. Talks breakdown, conflicts restart and cycles of violence continue. Local people are being left-out of peace processes. Their ideas ignored and their voices silenced. Without their knowledge, experience and expertise: true and sustainable peace cannot be built. Wars and suffering will continue, and more lives will be lost.

    Solution

Local people are the key to ending and preventing wars and conflict. They understand the issues that effect their communities better than anybody else. They're the best people to resolve these tensions - they just need the right tools, training and support to make a difference. That's why working with our global network of grass-roots partners: We will train more local peacebuilders to rebuild lives, resolve conflicts, and turn their communities away from war and violence.
