“I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel”. Covid has made many families' lives harder. Many are already struggling. A short break offers a chance to recharge, reset and face the future in a different way. Some light, at the end of the tunnel.

    Situation

The Family Holiday Association helps struggling families to take a break. The families we work with face issues such as long term illness, mental health, domestic violence, isolation and young carers to name some of the issues they face. All these areas have been negatively impacted by the lockdown and for the families we work with, a break is out of reach without support. A short break allows families to take a break from their circumstance and restores hope for their futures.

    Solution

The Family Holiday Association work with referrers such as social workers, teachers and other charities who refer struggling families. We work with referrers to offer a fully funded day trip or short break in the UK, often in one of our own caravans, located in UK holiday parks near the seaside and for the majority of the families we work with, it will be the first time they have ever taken a break together. The families tell us they feel restored and are better able to cope after a break.
