We want to support 200 young people who are in crisis this Christmas with food parcels, energy vouchers and a Christmas Meal. Our clients are under 25, homeless, at risk of homelessness or generally in crisis. We want to ensure that they are warm and have enough food over the Christmas period.

    Situation

Our clients are vulnerable young people at risk of homelessness. Facing poverty, they often have little to no money to buy food or keep themselves warm during winter. These young people are facing a multitude of issues, from mental health difficulties to family breakdown, unemployment and domestic abuse. Several of our clients have small children of their own, and so struggle to manage financially over the Christmas period. Many are not even able to enjoy a Christmas Dinner on 25th December.

    Solution

We run a food bank, a drop in service and floating support to offer advice and support on gaining and managing a tenancy. We supply young people up to the age of 25 with food parcels from our food bank, and buy fresh groceries to supplement these. Many of our clients have young families, so we include items such as baby milk, baby food and nappies. At Christmas, we also add in treats such as chocolates, body care sets and warm socks. We can also help with utility bills and paying for whitegoods
