    Situation

A cancer diagnosis can affect the emotional health of patients, families, and caregivers. Common feelings during this life-changing experience include anxiety, distress, depression, and loneliness. Roles at home, work, and school can be affected, and it is important that people have access to the help they need. Over the last 40 years we have supported over 300,000 individuals living with cancer, helping them to recover from the psychological and emotional effects of cancer.

    Solution

Wessex Cancer Trust is a regional community-focused charity, providing emotional and practical support to people of all ages and with all types of cancer, as well as those who are helping a family member or friend through their treatment. We have four Cancer Support Centres spread across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight, where local people can access a range of free face-to-face and remote services such as counselling, therapies, support groups, children’s services and exercise.
