HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity works to prevent premature death from high cholesterol – a major risk factor for heart attacks and strokes. We support people with high cholesterol, raise awareness, campaign for better detection, and support healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat people.

1 in 2 people in the UK have high cholesterol, one of the biggest preventable cause factors for cardiovascular disease, stroke and vascular dementia. 1 in 250 of these have inherited high cholesterol putting them at increased risk of premature death.
Solution
HEART UK is the UK’s only charity dedicated to cholesterol. We save lives by enabling thousands of people each year to understand and manage their cholesterol to reduce their risk of heart disease. We provide medical and dietetic advice via our nurse helpline and information via literature, website and webinars. We support research, provide clinical education on cholesterol and undertake national advocacy to ensure people with inherited cholesterol conditions receive optimum treatment and care.
