At Baytree we work with and empower girls and women through education, training and social and personal development opportunities. We provide women and girls in our community a much needed safe space and the support they need to succeed in work and life and break the cycle of poverty.

    Situation

Those who access the Centre face multiple barriers to inclusion, identified by the women and girls themselves as: lack of English language skills; lack of opportunities to learn in culturally appropriate settings; inability to access employment opportunities; school exclusions; poverty; poor housing; isolation; mental health issues; racism and discrimination (including religious discrimination); youth violence; abusive homes; family breakdown and a lack of family support and structure.

    Solution

Working in a person centered & holistic way, Baytree tailors services to the individual needs of our women & girls. Among other services we offer: ESOL, integration support & advocacy for asylum seekers, refugees & migrants including girls who do not have a place in school or college; tailored support to young women who are not in education, training or employment and have fallen through the gaps; social mobility coaching for women focusing on education, employment, finances, family & wellbeing.
