Situation
Today there are c. 6,000 veterans with no permanent address and a shocking 50,000 veterans are coping with mental health issues. Over 3,000 veterans are in prison & on release many face homelessness. At the same time, there is an increasing need for the hospitality industry to employ a large number of team members with strong work ethics and a desire to succeed to meet the demands of a growing industry and recovery from COVID.
Solution
We help people facing or at risk of homelessness find new long term stable careers in hospitality. To date we have placed 100 people into jobs. The veterans life skills hub will be a centre to support veterans being rehoused & re-employed on how to live independently, whilst developing their employability skills and giving them the tools, they need to get back on their feet. The hub is a 3 week programme led by our veterans advisor, retired Royal Marine, Major Scotty Mills.
