In 2022 we will run six Man&Boy weekend adventure camps and five Climb and Connect Courses that run for 6 weekend afternoons. This will enable 72 men and boys from within families to build deepening relationships for the long-term and benefit from learning new skills on the Man&Boy programme.

Beneficiaries
Man&Boy support boys in the transition stage between primary and secondary education (aged 9-12) experiencing difficulties engaging in school, burgeoning mental health needs such as anxiety or worry, or who (also) may be negotiating a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition, attention deficit or other social communication difficulties. They may have experienced family breakdown or bereavement.
We support boys by involving a male role model from within the family (father, step-father, uncle, etc.) and providing adventure camps, courses, and reunion events for both man and boy, emphasising relationship building, skill-building, and support for the male role model. This is supported by trained youth workers, family support workers and experienced volunteers, many of whom are fathers themselves who get alongside men and boys taking part.
