Paul’s mum died of Covid. At 18 he’s alone, in grief, debts are mounting and he can’t pay rent. Sitting in the dark, he’s eaten nothing all day. Everyone struggles – but no one should struggle alone. In our darkest hour of need, when everything gets too much, we all need someone to turn to.

Whatever the cause, people that face crisis in their lives need someone to be there for them. Someone to help, someone to talk to, someone to support them as they find their feet again. Whether it’s at a tipping point or deep-rooted crisis, support brings change and recovery. During 2020, people in crisis asking for our help increased by over 600%. One year on: debt, grief, mental impact, abuse and crisis are continuing to overwhelm people. They need someone to be there.
Solution
For 53 years, Aberdeen Cyrenians have been there for people in crisis with understanding and compassion thanks to the support of people like you. In the last six months, we have been there for people in urgent need in Aberdeen 58,584 times. With your help, we will continue to provide vital supplies, safety for those being abused, and recovery for people affected by addiction, homelessness, mental illness and trauma.
