Situation
After a year of economic lockdowns, the nation has a greater appreciation of the creative industries to lift our spirits and tell our stories. As Central is a pipeline of talent for the creative industries, it is vital that we train a diverse group of students, so that the industries avoid being a mono-culture which fails to engage with underrepresented groups. At Central, we see repeatedly that Scholarships and Bursaries are key in encouraging diversity among our student body.
Solution
We will overcome the potential financial barrier which deters some from applying to Central by offering Scholarships and Bursaries. Scholarships between £5,000 & £10,000 help with the costs of tuition fees and living expenses and are awarded on a combined basis of merit and financial need. Bursaries of no less than £1,000 help with living expenses and are awarded on a basis of financial need.
