We work for food that's good for planet and people. We pilot on-the-ground initiatives to reduce waste and create shared value for producers and communities. We use our experience & learnings to pressure for ambitious (inter)national policy changes, supportive of sustainable, equitable food systems.

    Situation

Food production is the single greatest impact humans have on the environment. Food – its production, distribution, and disposal – is driving deforestation, draining our freshwater reserves, and exhausting our soils whilst accounting for a quarter of our global greenhouse gas bill. Meanwhile, inequality persists in the food value chain, insecurity persists in food access, and injustice persists in good nutrition. We need a radical transformation of our food systems, from farm to fork.

    Solution

Our solution is to tackle both ends of this problem. We’re piloting solutions with local communities - increasing access to good food, creating pathways to new employment and building long-term resilience to food insecurity. We take what we learn from these pilot projects to lobby the government to change food policy and call out food companies who are lagging behind. We’re working towards a radical new food system that puts the needs of people and the planet before profits.
