The prolonged impact of the pandemic is felt acutely by women caught up in the criminal justice system or at risk of entering it, compounding the issues they face including poverty, isolation, mental & physical ill health, drug/alcohol misuse & domestic violence. In 2020, we pivoted to become a front-line organisation in response to the heightened levels of crisis. Now, with other services still stretched, we must invest in our offer to better reach & support women as they rebuild their lives.
The 30th Anniversary of our Members Programme & the anticipated return to our building has equipped us with a unique moment to consolidate learnings from the past year, review continued, heightened need & invest in our programme which places Members at the heart. Our digital & physical blended offer will combine creative opportunities with holistic support. We will proactively support vulnerable women most in need through skills development, wellbeing improvement & professional pathways.
Isolation has been at times unbearable, without Clean Break not sure if I['d] still be here.
This really is a lifeline helping me to create a new world, a new life for me. I’m finding my voice more and more so thank you one and all (…) I’ve never ever had anything like it, and I am over the moon at the daily discoveries.
It's invaluable. In the face of services being cut for women, Clean Break is an oasis. Unique.
It is really lovely to feel nurtured this way on my creative and healing journey. I have self doubt. Being able to BE in a safe space to connect with myself and like minded women is empowering.
