    Situation

Military trauma and PTSD can lead to Forces Veterans’ job loss, family breakdown, addiction and suicide. There is an acute national shortage of the specialist mental health therapy needed to help these people who have sacrificed for our country. It can take months to get an appointment with an NHS therapist, and treatment is usually not appropriate for military trauma. Many Veterans with PTSD have addiction issues and some are in prison, where they cannot get the help they need.

    Solution

PTSD Resolution resolves the symptoms of trauma for Veterans and families in 8 out of 10 cases, with 3000 referrals to date. Therapy is free, local, prompt and effective, through a network of 200 UK therapists. This is the only charity to treat Veterans with addiction issues and those in prison. All funds are used for treatment and research. PTSD Resolution pays no salaries and owns not assets - not so much as a stapler - to enable it to pay for therapy.
