Situation

Military trauma and PTSD can lead to Forces Veterans’ job loss, family breakdown, addiction and suicide. There is an acute national shortage of the specialist mental health therapy needed to help these people who have sacrificed for our country. It can take months to get an appointment with an NHS therapist, and treatment is usually not appropriate for military trauma. Many Veterans with PTSD have addiction issues and some are in prison, where they cannot get the help they need.

Solution

PTSD Resolution resolves the symptoms of trauma for Veterans and families in 8 out of 10 cases, with 3000 referrals to date. Therapy is free, local, prompt and effective, through a network of 200 UK therapists. This is the only charity to treat Veterans with addiction issues and those in prison. All funds are used for treatment and research. PTSD Resolution pays no salaries and owns not assets - not so much as a stapler - to enable it to pay for therapy.

  • “I just want to give a massive thank you to PTSD Resolution. They have given me and my family a normal life again. I was in a really dark way - if it wasn't for my therapist helping me and giving me the tools I need to have a normal daily life, I don't know where I would be."

    — DR: Veteran of Afghanistan

  • I have benefitted really well from the sessions, facing the fear and anxiety. I had a really good relationship with my therapist who guided me through the different stages and gave me an understanding of how traumatic events can cause mental illness. "I would highly recommend PTSD Resolution."

    — Wife of a Veteran

  • "I would 100% recommend PTSD Resolution to another sufferer. I would say, 'You need to do it mate. It works so well. It really clears your head."

    — DA: Veteran of Kosovo

  • "I highly recommend anyone to go through these sessions - I've come out the other side and see things and do things in a different light. PTSD Resolution was amazing and anyone willing to sit through these sessions will see the results that me and my family and friends have seen."
