At NYCGB we passionately believe that all young people, regardless of circumstance or background, should have equal access to a high-quality inspiring music education. All donations will go towards providing bursaries for 50 talented young singers to join one of our life-changing programmes in 2022.

    Situation

Young people’s access to and participation in music education varies widely across the UK, especially for those in state education and from low-income families. As a result, many young people miss out on opportunities to discover singing, develop skills and benefit from the educational, well-being and social outcomes of taking part. This has been exacerbated by the current Corona crisis, which if not addressed will create an increasing social injustice for disadvantaged young people in the UK.

    Solution

NYCGB operates nationwide to develop sustainable singing opportunities in schools and communities and accessible pathways for young people to pursue their talents at a regional and national level. Essential to this work, we aim to provide all qualifying applicants with financial assistance towards costs of participating in our programmes, including audition, membership and course fees and travel. For many families, funding their child’s musical development is not possible without a bursary.
