Since the Taliban took control in August, the future of Afghanistan remains uncertain. Approximately 6 times the number of people in the country were already in need of humanitarian assistance in 2021 as compared to 4 years ago. Now, the conditions have worsened and Afghan families need your help.

    Situation

Over the past year, the ongoing pandemic, another extreme drought, the escalation in conflict, the Taliban takeover and the ensuing economic crisis, have pushed the country to the edge of becoming the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. As the freezing winter sets in, over half of all Afghans will face crisis or emergency levels of acute food insecurity over the winter. This means that some 22.8 million people will be unable to feed themselves.

    Solution

We are providing emergency relief to those stuck in dangerous situations across the country so that families can keep a roof over their heads; cook and safely store food; heat their homes and keep warm over the winter; and keep their families clean and healthy. Alongside our emergency relief work, we will provide longer-term support so families can rebuild their lives and build a stronger future for their communities.
