Lifeshare is Manchester's oldest homelessness charity. We have adapted to serve the needs of the city's most vulnerable populations since 1984. Lifeshare began the city's only 24 hour 7 day Christmas provision, providing hot food, medical care, companionship, and fresh clothes to all.

    Situation

During the holidays many of the resources that vulnerable people across Manchester utilise to access resources including food, housing, and crisis support close down over the Christmas period. These resources are vital as early intervention and support are key to helping people experiencing homelessness.

    Solution

Lifeshare's staff realised more than 30 years ago that all of the charitable resources that homeless and vulnerable people in Manchester depended on for support closed during Christmas. Lifeshare stepped in to not only provide this support but also 7 full days of hot meals, showers, medical care, and companionship to reduce isolation and keep people warm and fed over the holidays.
