    Situation

The Coronavirus Pandemic has exacerbated already challenging circumstances for many people who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless this winter. Insecure housing and low paid jobs mean that the number of people in Bristol who are homeless could increase significantly this winter. With homelessness often comes poor physical and mental health, isolation, hunger and a limited life expectancy. Providing support for people at their point of crisis is often the first step to recovery.

    Solution

With your help, the Wild Goose drop-in is able to provide a hot meal, a shower, clean laundry and somewhere warm for homeless people in Bristol to spend the day. Alongside this, engagement workers provide practical help (e.g. sleeping bags), access to health professionals and support with accessing housing or benefits. This vital support for people at their point of crisis is also the first step in helping people to find a home with enough money to live on.
