    Situation

Research shows the direct and indirect effect that Covid-19 is having on children and young people, with increasing health, social and financial pressures often falling on the most vulnerable families in our Boroughs. Over the last 12 months, WLAC has seen a 23% increase in the number of referrals we normally receive, reflecting the significant impact that the Covid-19 outbreak has had on the mental health of the vulnerable children, young people and families we exist to support.

    Solution

As a small, local, independent charity, WLAC is able to offer flexible, free, time-unlimited, solution-focused counselling and therapy services to children and young people who may not be able to access similar services elsewhere. Our qualified and experienced team of therapists work flexibly with the client and their family, focusing on strengths, to effect long term change, allowing children and young people to fulfil their potential. Last year we provided over 4200 therapy sessions in total.
