    Situation

Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) is one of the most under-funded and under-recognised medical tragedies of our time. Every year in the UK, around 40 seemingly healthy children (1-18 years) die from sudden and unexpected death, often going to sleep and never waking up. Currently, we do not know what causes SUDC, how to predict it or how to prevent it. There is limited funding, awareness and support for bereaved families.

    Solution

When a seemingly happy and healthy child dies suddenly and no-one can tell you why, you need help. You need to know you are not alone. SUDC UK is the only national charity dedicated to Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. We are proud to raise awareness and fund critical research to make SUDC predictable and preventable in the future. We proudly provide families and professionals with information and resources. SUDC UK help families access expert, tailored support and advocates for families.
