    Situation

Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a highly painful and debilitating genetic skin condition which requires enhanced medical care and treatment. Whilst the NHS is able to cover most of the costs of basic care, this isn’t enough to address the broad and complex healthcare needs of people living with EB.

    Solution

DEBRA works in partnership with teams of clinicians at four EB centres of excellence to include Great Ormond Street Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas Hospital, Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Women and Children's Hospital to ensure an enhanced EB nursing service can be delivered, strengthening the nursing expertise available to patients with EB so they can live with the minimum amount of pain and the maximum quality of life possible to them.
