RADA is committed to creating learning opportunities for disadvantaged young people in London who are interested in pursuing a career in the dramatic arts (acting and technical theatre). We encourage engagement from young people living in poverty and people who identify as black or Global Majority.

    Situation

COVID has had a devastating impact on RADA, and we have received no emergency support from the Government. On top of this the continued cuts to arts education puts young people at risk of not being exposed to their educational benefits, most notably for young people from lower-income backgrounds. At RADA, we believe that it is our responsibility to encourage diverse participation within higher education by creating accessible pathways to it.

    Solution

RADA is committed to reducing barriers to theatre by actively seeking to engage people with little or no access to the arts. Every year we aim to enable people of all financial and social backgrounds to experience performing arts education of the highest standard. As the arts industry begins to re-build after COVID-19, it is vital that it is re-built with diversity at its core. Our work with young people will ensure that those with talent today, will be tomorrow's creative future.
