    Situation

Refugees face an unemployment rate over 4x higher than the UK average due to many barriers, including: CV gaps due to lengthy asylum processes, lack of familiarity with the UK job market, racism and difficulty getting their qualifications recognised. They have also been disproportionately affected by Covid-19 through higher levels of furlough, job losses, and mental health difficulties. The UK’s pledge to resettle 5,000 Afghan citizens this year has further increased the need for our services.

    Solution

Our dedicated team of Employment Advisers provide tailored, 1:1 employment advice and guidance for our refugee clients. Support includes CV and cover letter writing, job searching and interview practice, alongside English and IT courses at varying levels. We work closely with 20+ businesses and together we offer our clients skills workshops, paid placements and permanent job opportunities. To date, we are proud to have supported over 1300 clients from 70+ countries on their employment journeys.
