Nepal is in the grip of the Indian variant COVID pandemic. The virus is more infectious and transmissible and attacking younger age groups, including children. We must provide support to the poorest people in Province 2, southeast Nepal, who lack citizenship and do not qualify for government relief.

Situation
The Indian variant has now reached Nepal and is spreading very quickly. Historically, government relief is not available to the most marginalised and stigmatised people in rural communities, who may lack citizenship although their families have lived in Nepal for generations.
Solution
We will deliver relief via our NGO implementing partner, the Mithila Wildlife Trust (MWT) that operates in southeast Nepal. MWT, from its close local knowledge, will be able to identify the greatest need and respond quickly and impactfully.
