Fixers April Appeal

Fixers is running a campaign for one month only to raise essential funds. After giving 23,000 young people a voice, the charity is now running as a legacy charity and hopes to raise £5,000 running costs to ensure the legacy of Fixers and the incredible archive of youth-led resources continues.

Situation

In 2019 Fixers ceased operating day-to-day activities due to financial difficulties. The legacy of Fixers is now being run by a new board of volunteer trustees and one staff member. The Fixers website, and it's social platforms, have been kept alive and accessible as a legacy of the incredible amount of resources that young people from across the UK have made. We want to ensure that these campaigns and stories stay in one place, and available for another generation to use.

Solution

With £5,000 core running costs, we can maintain the website as a usable database. Young people and non-profits use our website frequently as a trusted source of 2,500 experience-based resources on the issues young people face. The funds would also contribute towards supporting freelance staff and our Youth Advisory Board. Twelve remarkable young people representing all 4 nations formed Fixers’ inaugural Youth Board in 2020, and their input has already proved invaluable.

  • I can’t put into words how much being a part of Fixers has helped me. Fixers has the ability to change lives and I want nothing more than for Fixers to continue the already monumental work it has achieved. Fixers has the potential to influence real change both locally and nationally.

  • I just had to reach out and say thank you. I just watched your video about SLI and I’m in tears. I finally have something to show my teenage son so he’ll know he’s not the only one who struggles. The tone of the video is perfect. It’s excellent. I’m so grateful. Thank you.

  • I think fixers does amazing work and I think they’re message is strong - the more people who can engage with the stories and support that fixers has to offer the better!
