Special places like Snowdonia work wonders helping people recover from lockdown. We support, equip and train volunteer teams to look after the National Park, for the benefit of wildlife, landscapes, visitors and local communities. Litter gets cleared, footpaths are fixed, guidance is given.Good job!

    Situation

Being outdoors in nature has been a saviour for many people. As a result the summer of 2020 was one of the busiest ever experienced in Snowdonia National Park, with many visitor related challenges to deal with. 2021 is likely to be even busier. More people benefiting from fresh air in beautiful countryside is great, but without more helping hands at work, the special places that we all want to look after and the people who live their could be overwhelmed.

    Solution

We have years of experience in recruiting, training, equipping and supporting volunteer teams all across the National Park. But we've never faced a challenge on the scale that faces us in 2021. Working closely with our partners we will need to run a bigger volunteer effort than ever before, backed up by public messaging to encourage safe, responsible and enjoyable visiting. That way everyone benefits - special landscapes, visitors & those who live & work in Snowdonia.
