We work with families from an area of London that has many challenges. 30% of young people in Lambeth are growing up in poverty and our ward is one of the 20% most deprived in England. In a year that has been challenging for many, our community has suffered greatly. Most of our families have no access to outside space and live in overcrowded households meaning lockdown has had a profound affect on both physical and mental health.

Our summer programme will provide activities that promote both good physical and mental health, taking place mainly in the outdoors and with access to horses and nature. We will run sessions at our club in Brixton where young people can re-connect with friends and our horses while supported by our youth workers. We will also run trips away from London that provide new opportunities, build skills and provide much needed respite.
