  • “I’m overwhelmed by the food packages that have been delivered … Please pass on my gratitude to each and every single person if that’s humanly possible as it’s brought many tears to my eyes”.

    — One local Mum wrote following receipt of her parcel

  • “I have just received a parcel from yourselves. Just a big thank you. The dog loves her treats. A lot of the bits you supplied I had run out of totally, so I’m very grateful. Loved the Lux soap and toiletries. Like a goody bag. Really so grateful to you all.”

Situation

We ensure that families within the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham who find themselves with inadequate funds to purchase food receive a nutritious box of emergency food, delivered to their door by our fantastic volunteers. Since 1st April 2020, we have delivered food boxes to over 41,000 people, including almost 15,000 children under the age of 16. This is the equivalent of more than 410,000 meals provided. Demand remains high and we are currently spending up to £5,000 per week on food alone.

Solution

Every individual or family referred to our service receives an emergency food box containing enough fresh and long life ingredients for at least 3 days, or 10 meals. Each box contains nutritious long life food, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, essential toiletries and other extras such as nappies and baby food if required. As demand is so high we are currently spending up to £5,000 per week ensuring we have enough food to fill these boxes with everything these families need.
