This campaign has now closed

This year marks Little Angel Theatre's 60th anniversary and we are planning an exciting year of celebration. When our doors reopen this summer we want to bring as many children back into the building as possible especially at a time when so many have been starved of culture and interaction.

    Situation

LAT is based in Islington one of the most unequal places in the UK. It has the 3rd highest level of child poverty with 35% of children living in income deprived households. 50% of pupils in our surrounding primary schools have never visited LAT before due to financial barriers. LAT seeks to break down barriers to arts engagement. Particularly relevant at a time when pressure on schools might result in a narrowing of the curriculum - widening the disparities in access to the arts.

    Solution

LAT's Puppet For All Scheme began in 2004 and through our School Partnership and Community Engagement Programmes we provide free tickets for local disadvantged children and their families. We believe nobody should miss out on the possibly live changing benefits of theatre. This year we want to widen our reach by offering 60 classes of children from across the Borough free tickets. We want to remove pre-conceptions about the theatre, demonstrating that it can be for everyone.
