Through workshops we engage young people with environmental issues and encourage them to take action against the impact of climate change. Using nature as our classroom, we educate and encourage youth action and responsibility to become climate change ambassadors within their local communities.

    Situation

With a lack of youth action particularly in ages 10-14 we hope to increase the level of knowledge young people have on current environmental issues and how they can take action to help their local area. Young people feel the effects of climate change but often don't know what they can do to help make a difference. With a lack of connection to nature during the pandemic young people are unaware of the importance of nature and its positive affect on mental wellbeing.

    Solution

By reconnecting young people with nature and bringing climate action to their attention we can help them feel the positive effects of the outdoors to their mental wellbeing whilst also setting goals for environmental advocacy. We will reconnect young people to the natural world and educate them on how to look after it. We imbue the Leave no Trace principles promoting sustainable lifestyles, conserving nature, adopting environmentally-friendly practices which they can share in their communities.
