    Situation

In a part of East London with hardly anywhere safe to play outside, the summer holidays can be a particularly difficult time for families with young children. With schools closed, families struggle to find space and opportunities to play, to stay active and connected. The impact of Covid-19 has made this even tougher, especially for families on low incomes or from communities hardest hit by the pandemic who already faced stark disadvantage in their lives.

    Solution

Our Summer Holidays Activities will help families, children and young people play, connect with each other, have fun and access support. The project will provide structured and open play sessions, creative activities, gardening and games. In the welcoming, inclusive setting of our community centre and garden, the project will also offer support to help families tackle issues affecting their recovery from multiple lockdowns whether, money or legal worries, or practical skills such as language.
