    Situation

Children with disabilities have been hardest hit by the pandemic. They need structure, predictability and routine, and unfortunately Covid has taken all that away from them. Their loss of control over their lives has led to negative behaviors, increased tantrums, poor mental health, and loss of skills learned through various therapies. Confusion, lack of understanding of the situation, constant school closure due to Covid cases, etc all resulted in a difficult and challenging year for our users.

    Solution

By providing a haven of safety, security and familiarity in the after school hours during term time, children will thrive on the structure they crave. Knowing that they have what to do after school, with people they enjoy spending time with, ensures the happiness and again, stability, of children who are feeling confused and anxious with the constant unpredictable changes in their lives. Also knowing they will receive a daily meal reduces food anxiety.
