We need unrestricted funds to help us weather the long term financial effects of Covid and continue to change young lives through the power of theatre. We do this by offering affordable theatre trips and educational drama projects to thousands of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people each year.

    Situation

Theatre and drama have been shown to have powerful effects on young lives, particularly for those who are disadvantaged, disabled, or facing other challenging circumstances. Unfortunately, these children are the most likely to miss out on these enriching and transformative experiences. High costs, access needs, and a lack of adult understanding or support can all be prohibitive. These young people are therefore excluded from engaging with this art form, both as audience members and participants.

    Solution

We remove these barriers by offering heavily subsidised theatre trips and drama projects to these young people, opening up this magical world to them. Our theatrical experiences improve wellbeing, develop skills and employability, boost confidence, and encourage self-expression. All of these things work together to raise aspirations, level an uneven playing field, and increase the opportunities available to young people who may be in danger of getting trapped in a cycle of disadvantage.
