    Situation

IntoUniversity addresses educational inequality between disadvantaged young people and their better-off peers. This inequality is particularly pronounced in the Arts, where those from privileged backgrounds are more than twice as likely to secure a job in the creative industry. The leading factor preventing disadvantaged students from accessing the sector is educational underachievement, and the COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated this issue. At IntoUniversity we are determined for this to change.

    Solution

Through our programmes (Academic Support, Structured Workshops, Mentoring and Careers Opportunities), we will address the lack of diversity in the Arts by providing opportunities to our London students through: Exposure: Inspiring Arts-themed trips, workshops and work experience Skills: Enabling students to develop skills needed to be successful in the Arts Knowledge: Developing knowledge of future options in the Arts and guiding students through subject choices and important career decisions
